Here at Sandbach we all do our day jobs because we love animals and we never forget that your pet is a much-loved member of the family. We have a menagerie of animals between us, so find out more about our highly qualified team and their furry, and not so furry, friends.

  • Cameron Muir, Senior Veterinary Surgeon

    Cam graduated with honours in December 2000 from the University of Queensland after returning from the geological sciences to study for his lifelong desire to become a vet. Cam worked for a year and half on the Gold Coast, Queensland treating mainly dogs, cats and occasionally a kangaroo. He came to the UK for a working holiday and has stayed ever since. After working in Kent for 18 months he moved north… Cam and his partner Roz, a vet nurse, their inherited Australian Kelpie “Max”, Kylie the cat, and eight spoilt chooks (including rescued layers). Cam’s interests are cardiology, medicine and ultrasound but in his spare time he likes vegetable gardening outdoor water sports, surfing and snorkelling.

  • Helen Jenkins, Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Helen qualified in 2016 at Sollihul college and has worked locally before joining us, Helen loves all aspects of her job and enjoys the variety it brings. In her spare time Helen enjoys taking her three dogs for long walks and riding her horse Clare.

  • Lucy Tottey, Veterinary Surgeon
    Lucy qualified at Nottingham in 2011 and has worked in two local practices before joining us. Lucy is working with us part time as has two young children that keep her very busy the rest of the time. Lucy has got a gentle elderly German Shepherd cross called Zara who has been her walking companion since Uni, and also enjoys water-colour painting and playing the piano.
  • Laura Atkinson, Senior Veterinary Surgeon

    Laura graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1994. Initially working in Yorkshire for several years then taking a year out to travel Australia and Asia. Laura’s special veterinary interest is in feline medicine. She now lives near Nantwich with her husband Owen, also a vet, and three young children. They have an English Pointer – Coco, a border terrier – Mabel, several hens, and tropical fish. Outside of work Laura enjoys walking, running, cycling and tennis.

  • Antonio Tinaglia, Veterinary Surgeon

    Antonio qualified in 2009 at Messina University Sicily, he has been practicing here in the U.K since 2010 including an internship at Rutland House referrals and in general practice.Antonio has a keen surgical interest and outside of work enjoys cycling, going to the gym and playing pool.

  • Lorna Dewdney, Veterinary Surgeon

    Lorna, who lives in Sandiway, graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2008 and has spent the past six years in general practice in Birkenhead. She enjoys working with all animals, but has a particular interest in feline medicine. She has 2 lovely cats with very lovely names, Louie and Jenny Cynthia. Lorna is studying for an Advanced Practitioner status in small animal medicine. At present she is on maternity leave and will be back in late 2017.

  • Jon Climo, Reception & Small “Furries”

    Jon manages the front of house and is the friendly chatty face who will greet you when you arrive. He has a Diploma in animal care and a particular interest in small furries (rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets). He has owned and bred little friends for many years and is an invaluable source of general advice.

  • Roz Newton, Registered Veterinary Nurse and Clinical Coach

    Roz is an experienced veterinary nurse and has specialist knowledge in emergency and critical care. She also works as a clinical coach for student nurses. Living in Hasall with a menagerie of animals including Kylie the cat (aka Poofee), “Max” the dog, Shelly the tortoise and 8 un-named chickens!

    Roz qualified in 2002 and worked in Kent and Hertfordshire before joining us here in Sandbach.

  • Rachel Marsh, Registered Veterinary Nurse & Prep Area Manager

    After leaving school Rachel worked as a kennel assistant for two years. In 1997 she spent six months working in a solicitors office, during which time she was offered the chance to work at a Nantwich vet practice. She jumped at the chance to work with animals and qualified in 2003. Rachel is in charge of the “Prep area” – she has the critical role making sure your pet is well cared at all phases of operations and hospitalisation during its stay.

    Rachel also runs Bridge Farm Kennels with her partner and sister.

  • Julie Kelsall, Registered Veterinary Nurse, Practice Administrator

    Julie is proud to be one of the original CheshirePet team from when we started in 2007. She qualified in 2001 and is a Senior Veterinary Nurse at the practice where she also does her fair share of the paperwork! Married with two grown up children, she has acquired Sampson, a ‘soppy moggie’ from Sandbach Animal Rescue and an abundance of chickens.

     

  • Emma West, Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Emma has worked as a veterinary nurse for 20 years, although qualified in 2015, in practice Emma loves her nurse clinics and consulting. Emma is a busy mum of four and enjoys baking and being roadie to her son’s band “the Fever”. When she has time Emma enjoys long walks with husband Greg and her two dogs Alan and Forest.

     

  • Luisa Tunnicliffe, Registered Veterinary Nurse

    After leaving school in 2004 Luisa worked at Alton Towers for 6 years but knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary nursing. She joined Cheshirepet in 2011 doing voluntary work and has been here ever since! She trained with Cheshirepet and qualified for her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2015. She is particularly interested in ‘small furries’ nursing and husbandry and she currently has 6 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits of her own. She is never happier than when she has her head in a veterinary nursing manual!

  • Melissa Riley, Stock Manager

    It has been Melissa’s vocation since an early age to work in a veterinary clinic and joined Cheshirepet in September 2012.  Melissa multitasks at the clinic and is the stock manager helps with nursing, administration and reception. After leaving school in 2010 Melissa studied Level 3 in both Business studies and Extended Diploma in Animal Management at Reaseheath College, gaining 3 Distinctions. Since 2009 Melissa has worked initially as a kennel assistant at a local kennels and loves and cares for all animals.

  • Holli Goodwin, Receptionist

    Holli loves all animals and has two crazy dogs of her own, Sprout and Possum, and a horse Mylo, Holli is also riding instructor and also a fitness fanatic that does Crossfit as much as possible.Holli enjoys trips out with her dogs to the beach and they enjoy lots of cuddles.

     

  • Catherine Ball, Student Veterinary Nurse

    Catherine joined as an auxiliary nurse and is now progressing to become a qualified veterinary nurse. Catherine has always wanted to work with animals and she is also really interested in science, which makes a great combination for being in the veterinary profession.  She has her own horse which she rides regularly, a dog (Meg) and Alfie the rabbit.

  • Angela Birch, Financial Administrator

    Angela is a newby to the area having moved to Sandbach from Bedfordshire in 2013. She is married with two children and Millie the rescue cat. She is our go to person for all things financial!

     

     

  • Rebecca Williams, Student Veterinary Nurse

    Rebecca is training at the Royal College in Potters Bar, Rebecca has always wanted a career with animals and has four dogs of her own, Smudge, Bonnie, Clyde and Penny. In her spare time Rebecca loves adventure and has recently swum with sharks and turtles and is doing a skydive in August.

     

  • Sally Harvey, Animal Care Assistant

    Sally has a supporting role to the nursing team and is studying at Reaseheath. Sally hopes to become a qualified veterinary nurse and has a real love of animals. Sally has a rabbit called Carrot, but would love more!
